The PMV 005 Tracheostomy & Ventilator Swallowing and Speaking Valve, White Colored (15mm I.D., 23mm O.D.) is the original Passy Muir Valve. The PMV 005 may be attached to a standard 15mm tracheostomy tube hub or connected to a ventilator through the use of a PMV® AD22 or other 22mm flexible silicone adapters. The PMV 005 Speaking Valve restores communication, improves swallowing and may reduce aspiration.
It also restores natural positive airway pressure and facilitates secretion management. The PMV 005 Speaking Valve expedites ventilator weaning and decannulation, facilitates infection control and improves smell, taste, and sensation.
